Your voice matters! While contacting a legislator might seem complicated, the process is actually straightforward. Remember, your representatives work for you, and they need to hear from constituents to do their jobs effectively.
This guide helps you contact your State Representative and State Senator (who meet at the Georgia Capitol).
1. Go to the Locator
Go to the official Georgia General Assembly website Find Your Legislator page.
https://www.legis.ga.gov/find-my-legislator

2. Enter Your Address
Once there, enter you exact address where you are registered to vote. Double check your voter registration address at https://mvp.sos.ga.gov/s/
The address must include street name, street type, city, state, and ZIP code (everything you would type into a shipping address).
For example: 18 Capitol Sq SW Atlanta GA 30334.
The maps on the locator page will zoom and display your Representative and Senator in your districts.
Click on their name or district number to be directed to their personal page.

Don't slip up, double check your registration at the Georgia My Voter Page: https://mvp.sos.ga.gov/s/. You can see your districts under "My Districts & Elected Officials"

3. Find Their Contact Information
On their personal page, you can find all their information such as an email, office phone number, and staff contact.
Use this to send an email, call during working hours, and/or leave a voicemail. You can contact either the representative directly and/or their staff.
On some personal pages, you'll see a big button for a contact form where you can fill in your information and send a comment right on the webpage.

Tips:
- Save this information in your contacts so you don't have to look it up later.
- In your communication, mention your address and that you are a constituent.
- Make your message brief and clear.
- They are regular people just like you. Be respectful.
- Be collaborative, not combative.
- Ask for a response or call back.
- Ask what initiatives are important right now to your representative and how you can help.
